SVQs

Scottish Vocational Qualifications have been designed to relate specifically to people who work with horses and are achieved through continuous assessment of performance in the workplace.  The BHS has been accredited by the Scottish Qualifications Agency as an Awarding Body for SVQs in Scotland. 

The qualifications are available at Levels 1 and 2 in Horse Care and Level 3 in Horse Care and Management.  They are made up of a number of mandatory units and an optional unit (for example breeding, exercising horses, schooling horses, driving, trekking, breaking and competition groom) at Levels 2 and 3.

Candidates must register through an approved administrative Centre and eill be assessed at approved locations linked to the Centre.
