BHS Ayrshire Fun Quiz Night and Raffle
Well done to everybody at the BHS Ayrshire Quiz this evening. It was lovely to see our regulars back plus some new faces. Once again, Neigh Bother won the quiz, claiming back their trophy for another year. Both 1st and 2nd placed teams qualified for the BHS Scotland Quiz Final in 2019. A huge well done to Elaine Honeyman and Gillian Trotter (plus family help) in organising this quiz. Great raffle prizes on offer, with Laura Gilchrist winning the top prize of a weekend pass for Blair Atholl Horse Trials (remember to visit the tea room in the BHS Stand). Virtually £200 was raised in the raffle and £120 in quiz team entries.
BHS Ayrshire Annual Meeting
BHS Ayrshire held their Annual Meeting at Morris Equestrian on Wednesday 15th November 2017. Following the annual meeting business, Professor Derek Knottenbelt gave a very interesting talk on his involvement with ‘Vets with Horsepower’ – what an inspirational talk.
During the annual meeting, Julie Hanna presented 4 committee members with certificates for being on the BHS Ayrshire committee for 5 years – these were presented to Isabel Forsyth, Liz McKay, Elaine Honeyman and Anne Whitehead. Well done everybody – 10 year awards are next on the agenda!
BHS Ayrshire recently reached their 600th member and Gordon Thomson was present on the evening to be presented with a certificate for this and received a nice welcome from BHS Ayrshire.
BHS Ayrshire gets visit from William Hill
We had a visit from William Hill today, unfortunately the Gold Cup at Ayr Racecourse has been cancelled this weekend, but instead they came to donate the winner's rugs to the horses at the RDA!
If you find yourself at loose end without the races on, don't forget that tomorrow is our Autumn Show. We'll be taking entries on the day, so there's still time to enter!
