BHS Grampian May Day Show
A great day of coach training held by BHS Grampian on 4th December at Aberdeen Riding Club, with information and demonstrations of the lessons involved in the new BHS Stage 2 teach and Stage 3 teach assessments.
Many thanks to Patrick Print FBHS, Aberdeen Riding Club and all the fabulous demo coaches and riders!
Our regular Pammy Hutton clinics and Erik MacKechnie clinics have continued to be popular with riders and horses of all abilities.
On 11 September BHS Grampian held a Standard Setting day at The Cabin on the updated BHS qualifications. We had 30 people attending and participating with Patrick Print FBHS explaining the new system and going through the standards required in the riding, lungeing and stable management sections of BHS Stage1, 2 and 3. Many thanks to Patrick Print, The Cabin and all the demo riders and participants.
The Centaur Biomechanics Rider Analysis clinic on 20th and 21st September was very popular with riders. Russell Guire was kept busy analysing and helping riders in 23 sessions over the 2 days. The Evening Talk and demonstration was also a great success, with 115 people attending. Russell looked at different disciplines and the different biomechanics pressures on the horses involved. We had a super demonstration with the demo riders on how the riders sits may influence the straightness of the horse and how this can be improved. Russell discussed the latest research on tack and equipment, recommending us not to underestimate what we put on the horses head, and kept reminding us that the horse can feel a fly. Thank very much to Russell Guire, Fountain Equestrian and the two super demo riders and horses.
