BHS Grampian May Day Show 2017
The weather was kind to us this year at the May Day show held at Aden Country Park, Mintlaw and we had a lovely sunny day. We had four rings with classes for everyone from cutest face through to veteran. We were pleased to see lots of happy smiling facing (young and older) having won rosettes with their equine partners. The most popluar classes of the day were the native ridden and inhand classes. It was great to have the BHS Scotland stand and Julie Hanna from HQ at the show. We would like to thank our judges for the day - Stacy Angus, Jane Squirrell, Mary Steele and Alstair Parkin as well as our sponsors Countryways, Norvite, BA Stores, Aberdeenshire Saddlery, Lynn Worth and Julie Thomson. Lastly thank you to the committee members for all their hard work to make the day a success.

Patrick Print Stable Managers day 24 March 2016
BHS Grampian were delighted to welcome Patrick Print FBHS to Aberdeenshire on Thursday 24th March 2016 to deliver a Stable Managers Training day with the afternoon devoted to the lunging aspect of the BHS Stage 2-4 exams. It was a highly informative and interesting day which was enjoyed by local instructors and training students alike. The day was subsidised by the Jubilee fund which provides funding for training for local instructors to help them achieve their BHS exams. Many thanks also go to Strathorn Farm Stables who provided the venue and horses for the day.
Getting Ready to Hit The Road!
Over 40 people gathered at Norvite at South Blackbog, Inverurie on Monday 20th April to attend BHS Grampian’s Transport Evening. Ian Smith, ex-VOSA examiner, walked attendees through the necessary checks to be carried out on different vehicles from the 7.5 tonne lorry to the car and trailer and discussed the all-important issue of weight. Rebecca Stephen offered invaluable advice on horse care when travelling, covering a range of important points such as equipment, safety and tackling difficult loaders. It was an educational and highly informative evening for all and BHS Grampian extends it’s thanks to the brilliant speakers and to Norvite for providing teas and coffees and an excellent venue. Armed with their new knowledge, we wish everyone safe and happy travels!
