Lothian covers 4 local authority areas surrounding and including Edinburgh.  There are about 500 members, 6 riding clubs, 4 pony clubs, 7 approved riding schools and 5 approved trekking centres in the area.  Apart from local equestrian events taking place throughout the year the most important event is the Royal Highland Show in June.  The BHS stand has a well-stocked book shop and many local riders attending the show will call in to meet friends.
